The basis on which we charge
Site design and authoring
Some web site designers will quote you a set rate for a site based on a template, which might
be restricted to, for instance, three pages with no more than one graphic per page.
We do not quote on this basis, because we think that your web site should be unique and
designed specifically for you, and in consultation with you, rather than based on a standard template. Some sites take
more work than others, and are charged for accordingly. After an initial
discussion with you, we will provide you with a quote for your site, based on how many hours'
work we estimate it will take to produce it.
You can rest assured, however, that our charges are surprisingly reasonable,
because we prefer to work with small businesses rather than with huge
organisations with huge budgets. Our estimates tend to be within
a range of £250 (for a simple site, perhaps for a local charity)
to £1000+ (for a larger and more complex commercial site). This
does not mean, however, that we will not take on contracts outside this
range - and we always make a discount for charities.
Site Maintenance
We can offer you an annual maintenance agreement, where in return for an annual fee you will
be entitled to an agreed number of hours work per year to keep the site up to date.
You can use these hours, for example, to publicise time-limited special offers, or to
update a regularly-changing menu - or just to make corrections to the information on the site
as it becomes out of date. The use that you can make of it is limited only by your
imagination! The number of hours work contracted for, and therefore the annual charge,
are completely negotiable.
